I think you can share files with other nextcloud instances in a federated way but I have never tried it.
I think the best anyone can do is try to make life as good as possible in their mini sphere of influence, their personal bubble of friends and relationships. If everyone did that, society would be better. I’m not sure what to do about psychopaths in power. Maybe deal with the psychopaths in your personal world or aim to reduce your own personal behavior that’s harmful to others?
I don’t do anything special, as far as they know. I give them my phone number - but it is a VOIP number I use for family and friends only. I don’t use it with any accounts or sign-ups anywhere so I don’t care that the number gets out. I also mostly just text to plan a meet up in person. I don’t text juicy conversations. For closer friends, I got lucky and we’ve migrated to Signal.
I use Vanadium with a custom DNS in system settings - NextDNS. It doesn’t get rid of every ad but it’s pretty good and blocks nearly all of them. You can choose adblock filter lists as well with NextDNS.
The article says it is technically impossible to develop in a womb, though I’m not sure why.
What if you have to go to the bathroom or step in the kitchen for a snack? You shut down your computer every time?
Wow! That is surprising to hear.
If they contribute they can be equal? We don’t even say the same about humans.
Tasks.org app because it syncs across Nextcloud or Apple Reminders or Android or Linux, and more.
LibreTube for Android. YouTube just has too many ads.
I have thought about getting a Boox e-ink tablet but currently just read ebooks on my phone. It’s hard not to get distracted though with other apps installed.
Help make a nearby town super attractive to tourists. Maybe they will flock there instead.

Yes, and also the inverse: everything to fear (just watch the news), so let’s stock up on surveillance
Not sure how paying for an item online using Zelle is in itself a scam. The scam would only come later if the stranger had requested your bank info, or you reply to a dodgy email, etc, but so far nothing untrustworthy had happened yet? I don’t think that was a good question.
How long before someone makes faux human meat? Would it be outlawed?
You can disable network permissions for individual apps, which means no ads. Those spammy games that have a million ads suddenly are ad-free, no cracks or pirating needed.
Proton recently updated their calendar to include an option to share a calendar with anyone (so they do not need a Proton account to see events).
I wonder if both devices were on the same tailacale network if this may work.
It’s much harder to break if you’re prone to tinker. And there’s no configuration drift that naturally accumulates over time as you tweak a system, so it always runs like a fresh new installation.
I have learned much more on immutable OS because I’m no longer afraid to tinker around and try new things. I play in distrobox and can completely nuke the container without affecting my whole system.
