      You’re right, she kept getting dumber as the series went on. But they seem to be leaning especially hard into “dumb Leela” now.

        I don’t really agree that she was dumb in last week’s episode. If I recall correctly, they didn’t know how life threatening the binging was until after Fry was too far gone to immediately be saved, and once they did know the problem, she was at the forefront of keeping him alive.

          Supporting Fry as he’s voluntarily encased in a device with tubes and hoses to feed him and extract his waste so he can binge-watch TV is incredibly stupid. It makes sense for the rest of the cast to not really care, that’s how they are, but it’s jarring to see Leela go along with it, too.
