DEATH TO CORPO SCUM
The task of Sisyphus was a punishment, not a hobby.
You shouldn’t be so apologetic about your sane, rational stance here. Anyone who looks at Brave and sees something other than a cryptobro piece of shit is a moron, including the guy you’re replying to. “You don’t have to buy it” and “It’s free” are the rallying cries of the people responsible for bringing us into this subscription-based, pay-to-breathe, privacy-violating nightmare we inhabit. They’re too fucking stupid to understand the consequences of their indifference.
It’s important to me to keep the three main pillars of my digital life—passwords, 2FA and email—separate, so I use Bitwarden, Aegis and ProtonMail. I don’t think that’s likely to change unless some catastrophic incident made one of those unusable.
This is an insane take on the matter. QAnon-level insane.
Ah, I misunderstood what you meant by “individual countries”; I thought you meant the individual countries that make up the EU as if these were somehow in opposition to the EU. That’s a common misconception even within the EU itself; just look at the Brexit people. But yeah, I see what you mean. I think it’s a cultural thing. We like regulating potentially powerful things to prevent them from getting out of hand. We have something of a history with powerful things getting out of hand.
I don’t understand this question. The EU is not an entity separate from the countries that make up the EU. The EU is an entity made up of countries who have voluntarily chosen to be part of the EU, and who invest their resources in the EU in order to be able, through the organs of the EU, to do things that benefit themselves. The EU is not a foreign power from the point of view of any EU member state.
Check out Notepad++. It has tabs and a bunch of other useful features.
He is not a very experienced Linux user and needs help understanding the messages you see in the screenshot. There are about 40 different clues to suggest this in his post, including the fact that he posted the question in the first place—but apparently you missed all of them. How embarrassing for you.

Corpo Parseltongue. Not a single honest, human utterance in that entire polished razor dildo of a text.
I understand, and that can be a valid concern. I also appreciate that the particulars of each individual’s setup can be wildly different and constrain the extent to which they’re able to control their digital environment. I am fortunate that my wife and I are both highly computer literate, and that none of us are active on corp-run social media. I could just as easily have been married to someone who sent information about the both of us to Instagram and TikTok a dozen times a day, and if that had been the case, it would have presented a novel set of challenges.
As it is, however, I have the luxury of having a private-minded spouse, a personal phone and a personal computer, the latter two of which constitute the full scope of what I can—and care to—control.
The way I have Firefox set up is extremely “privacy-friendly”, and I wouldn’t use any other browser.
The idea that I would involve myself in my wife’s digital privacy habits seems perverse to me. That is her business. I assume she has sane habits, but I do not interact with her devices.
If you’re into Star Trek, Gates McFadden, the actor who played Dr. Beverly Crusher on ST:TNG, has a great, chill podcast where she talks with people from all the different series.
Not in practice; in practice the US has a two-party system. In Denmark, governments are formed through coalitions of smaller parties agreeing to support someone in their bid to become prime minister. Danes don’t vote for the prime minister, or any minister, directly. Every single political decision is a compromise.
You’ve got six whole weeks of paid vacation as a Dane. Why would you even consider such an insane concept? The idea of working while on vacation is so utterly perverse that I struggle to find the words to express just how much I want anyone promoting the concept to fuck off and die.
I could stand listening to less than five seconds of this zero-year-old whiner talking.
No, that is not the idea behind Dyson spheres.
