Such a security risk though, but still better than curling scripts into sudo

Microsoft won’t even let you setup Windows now without an online account, unless you modify the installer or enter the terminal during installation. I don’t like Google but for God’s sake the issue isn’t just with Google. We need better laws and regulations in the US. Going after Google when other companies are just as corrupt or worse solves nothing. It just paves the way for worse actors. You can’t even remove your Microsoft Store apps once they’ve been downloaded from your library. At least with Google I can remove that and manage lots of privacy settings. Google isn’t an angel but there are bigger demons out there that seem to be getting a free pass.
It is hard to have a discussion with you when you exaggerate. Rapist mentality is far from what Chromium is. You really can’t equate rape to technology, since you have a choice.
The API you references communicates with Google using its own API when you use Google services, and as specifically designed for Google Hangouts at the time to report system information during calls. This has been known about since at least 2018. Any developer could have submitted a PR to have it removed. That is how open source works.
This has already been disabled in other Chromium builds:
https://github.com/ungoogled-software/ungoogled-chromium/blob/master/flags.gn#L5
Just because Brave recently submitted a bug report doesn’t mean that others have noticed. Again, I encourage you to look at what can be disabled via policies in Chrome (like Firefox):
https://chromeenterprise.google/policies/#WebRtcEventLogCollectionAllowed
Again Chromium is open source. Chrome is Google’s bundled browser that includes API keys and plugins to share information for signing in to Google and syncing data with your Google account. You do not have to enable these, and they can be disabled using policies & flags.
Simply not true. The only way to stop Firefox from phoning home completely is via about:config or a policy template file:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-stop-firefox-making-automatic-connections https://mozilla.github.io/policy-templates/
You can do the same with Chrome:
https://chromeenterprise.google/policies/
Firefox certainly phones home less by default, especially when opting out through various settings, but not completely. Chrome/Chromium isn’t evil either. Chromium sandboxing has long been praised as a more secure browser, hence why GrapheneOS (praised as the most secure phone distro) uses Chromium as their browser and not Firefox. Not saying Firefox is bad either. I actually prefer Firefox in certain scenarios and there is a reason that Tor and Mullvad use Firefox for their browsers too (easier to prevent JS from leaking system info), but Chromium is open source as well and used in things like Electron for Signal.
It isn’t quiet. You can prevent it with enterprise policies. Firefox sends information to Mozilla too. With AI now though, more people than ever are willing to have their data mined to be able to participate in AI.
Then he shouldn’t be sending more 500 pound bombs to Israel.
You’re the only one saying you want to help Trump win.
The final answer had me screaming… “What?!? No one is telling you that it isn’t likely you’ll beat Trump?” He’s like… Well, if the polls show me in the negative… Someone needs to show him the polls.
Windows permissions can be tricky… I’ll give them that. A lot of the tools Microsoft provides are not very straightforward.
However, PowerShell and tools from Sysinternals suite, or open source tools as well, make it a lot easier.
Managing permissions on Linux, especially if doing the ACL thing, can be complicated too. I’ve really never ran into many permission issues myself. psexec has been helpful too when needing to access things as the SYSTEM user and not get those stupid prompts asking me to change permissions for protected folders.
Andrew is not very smart. Windows isn’t very good, but he is very clueless. There are legitimate things to complain about, but Andrew just complains.
It means that questioning decisions or problems is seen as negative in the community generally and that everyone else must be wrong for not using NixOS.
As I used to say. The Nix community acts more like a cult of people willing to support flat earth.
So they came… and Jewish people learned to become the Nazis? Like, what is your point here? It is okay to be a Nazi so that we can stop the Nazis first?
The information that was re-released was already known. Anyone can file a court case. I hate Trump. Trump was never convicted and the cases were dropped. There is no victim coming forward right now to detail with evidence that Trump is a child molester. Biden also has accusations against him. During 2020 and 2016, many bad actors claimed Hillary and Biden molested them. Why did people not “believe” them just because they made an accusation?
Trump has 34 felony convictions. Claiming that Epstein files proves something where there is no conviction or victim with evidence in the public does not help. It makes Democrats look like they are grasping at straws. There is already plenty of reasons to not vote for Trump. Conservatives have Ashley Biden’s diary which does state Biden took showers with his daughter indicating she found it inappropriate. Should we use that against Biden?
With what shit? That Democrats can also attack the wrong people and act like fascists?
The post literally says:
“Shove his ass in a locker and burn the entire campus containing said locker to the ground. (The campus is Hillsdale).”
If you’re not advocating for murdering him, why would people be upvoting this response which says to murder him and burn the campus to the ground?
These types of responses only promote Trump’s chances as it makes Democrats out to be domestic terrorists.
It still isn’t fascism. Advocating to murder people for not voting is more fascist than someone publishing an article suggesting to not vote.
Not voting is not fascism.
Hmm… if only someone could stop sending Israel more money until they stop the genocide.
