Fair enough, I was being too idealistic. I just wish we can have them see reason instead, but if we can’t, making them shut up and not spread their idiocy would perhaps make for the next best thing.

That is very much a plausible argument, but I did start out by drinking tea instead of coffee when I was younger because my parents fearmongered me about coffee. Stayed a morning person throughout.
I drink black coffee and am a morning person
A Tater Tot is a mindless follower of some very punchable asshole called Andrew Tate. Also in regards to your second point, while that is true, they will and already do have that stupid stereotype ingrained in their racist minds anyways. Might as well take advantage of it.
Oh yeah, you’re right, I agree. My bad, didn’t really think of that for a sec.
Okay, that is pretty effective, but you would also swoop down to the same low as them. The police are known for unreasonable and excessive brutality, doing that would make you at the same level they are.
EDIT: You have convinced me and bought to my attention points that I didn’t consider because I might have been too idealistic. Thank you for correcting me.
On a more serious note, though, while I do 100% that the “Thin Blue Line” is pure idiocy, I don’t think that actually going out of your way to harass them (even if it is warranted) is in any way effective in convincing them otherwise and having them see reason. Same reasoning as with why many young boys these days fall down the alt-right rabbit hole and become a Tater Tot.
I found that, at the cost of a few months of absolute suffering, using Gentoo as my first distro fasttracked my Linux learning.
Isn’t Russia being criticised for similar authoritarian practices despite them being white (at least the people in power, anyways)?
Okay, fair point, the argument I made wasn’t exactly a good one. I do still think that hating authoritarianism isn’t exactly xenophobia.
I mean as someone of Chinese descent who is repulsed by the Chinese government’s actions despite them looking like me, I think my existence alone disproves your argument. I don’t doubt that there are some people who do think like that, but I do doubt that they make up anywhere near a majority.
I know right, imagine putting in so much effort just to strip some people of their most basic and fundamental human rights and thinking you’re the victim.
Wish GDPR had the same kind of teeth.
True, that’s part of the reason I switched to Gentoo
That depends for me. Is it open source? If so, check the source code, you can see for yourself whether that third party is doing anything shady? Anything closed source like WhatsApp, however, and I 100% agree with you.
Maybe it would be a good idea to collaborate with neighbours or friends or such, economies of scale and whatnot.
may you always be well
I use ZFS, not BTRFS, but both have snapshots, and if you’re someone who likes to tinker with their system like me, it lets you do so without worrying that it will break.
Wayland have worked flawlessly for me, but I do understand that I have a very simple use case, so ymmv.
