is it impossible to have a balanced conversation about starfield in particular, or does the internet ad economy tend to exclude the middle of every conversation in favor of loud antagonism and engagement bait?
Watching dude get sucked into the trap where he thinks that dominating this conversation is what’s important here is just 😙🤌so sweet. The only thing that could be more fun to watch is his face as what he said gets read back to him in a courtroom and he realizes that feeding his ego in this moment is gonna be what costs him his case.

The years have stopped coming.
Even that angle is more than just frivolity. Sitting around a fire, having some drinks and some laughs isn’t just a nice time, it’s vital to humans both as individuals and as a community. We’re social critters. We thrive when we care for others and are cared for by others, and the bonding that develops out of those drinking sessions is a way to establish that.
Who’s ready to learn a lot about fermentation?!
it may not be essential
Brewing began as a way of preserving fruits and grains, and of guaranteeing the safety of drinking water. It’s absolutely going to be essential if we get blasted back by about a thousand years.

Is shaman a gendered term? I had no idea
Its an issue with hydrolizing, which is to say the rate at which the flour absorbs the water and begins the process of gluten development.
Stovetop cooking is the intersection of organic chemistry and performance art. Baking is the intersection of organic chemistry and witchcraft.
Sopuli.xyz has a pretty dope homebrewing community. Not sure if they’re federated here or not, I keep a separate account there from when I didn’t understand how all this worked and thought each instance was basically its own thing
if he took it to court, he’d go to prison for lying UNDER OATH
Did y’all know that “nimrod” didn’t mean idiot until Bugs Bunny said it? Nimrod was a biblical king who was supposed to be a mighty hunter. In an episode with Elmer Fudd Bugs was like ‘What a Nimrod we got here’ or some shit like that. Nobody got the reference, but everyone picked up on the fact that it was meant to be insulting, and so we all just assumed that nimrod meant idiot and now it does.
even in the metric system, measuring by mass is better than volume and most home bakers don’t do it
Oh balls if we’re gonna get into the math for how many billions of yeast cells we’re pitching and time/population curves and all that mess we’re gonna need to take this over to the homebrewing community and talk to someone smarter than me. I just let my rises go until the volume of the loaf has doubled.
The bill would make it a criminal offence to burn the Muslim holy book, the Bible or the Torah publicly.
Nice to see a clear dividing line between religions that matter and deserve protection and religions that can still legally be abused
Both sides committed voter fraud
Okay, let’s take it to court. If you’re right, you’ll win and if you’re lying you’ll go to prison.
The issue with scaling in baking recipes is often that home bakers are measuring by volume and not mass. Any commercial baker is going to go by mass because with ingredients like flour the amount that’s in 1 cup can vary wildly based on how firmly packed into the cup it is. There are also issues with how long you need to rest 10 pounds of dough vs 1 to ensure it properly hydrolyzes and the fact that pizza dough in pro pizza shops often undergoes a sort of accidental ferment just by nature of the fact that it’s made in large batches then stored.
Okay but this is a “should” question, not an “is” question
My bad, I got you confused with OP and their “under no circumstances will I back my stuff up to either the cloud or local storage” attitude. I can’t count how many people I’ve seen who feel that way right up until the moment where they’re saying “What do you mean you can’t recover them?” I sometimes get a bit preachy about it because I’ve seen people lose their wedding pics or pics of dead relatives, and I personally lost a bunch of the stuff I worked on as an undergrad that’s just gone forever now.
I haven’t read penny arcade in years, but it brings me joy to see that the writing, at least, seems to be right where I left it. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve a deep crow that needs feeding.
