Walter Masterson makes similar content sometimes which I’ve been enjoying instead. His channel is a lot more opinionated overall though, and he makes better use of the political platform imo.

This isn’t about responsibility, it’s about preventing suffering. If you could prevent a genocidal leader from being born, which you knew would save hundreds of thousands of innocent lives, why wouldn’t you? Because it’s that person’s “responsibility” that all of those innocent people died after all?
Why couldn’t they just serve the comments to each client with the ad-adjusted timestamps already? The only thing the client has to request then is the comment page it wants to load, and some unique ID for which the backend remembers which ad version it’s associated with.
I will say, for a mainstream US news outlet this article wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. Maybe just because there’s no way to spin this anymore, but then again some outlets will just parrot IDF statements as fact
Ooh good catch. That makes sense. Not sure I would call this beautiful, especially without any way to tell how much time has passed, but fair enough
That doesn’t make sense unless this was personal expenditure, which it doesn’t seem to be
But… from when? Surely expenditure hasn’t gone up linearly with time
…how did the line come about? How did they determine what the life expectancy would have been with less expenditure per capita?
Conveniently they are about to declare those the same thing
It’s great for racing games where you have gradual steering but also quicker response times than with a controller
Well there’s a couple interesting answers here already. Time to save this post so I can “come back to it” (aka forget…)
It’s not code anyone is supposed to read or work with, this is the result of minifying it to be as short as possible. And from a quick glance what’s happening is that a variable is set to correspond with whether the cursor is currently over a certain element. Not sure what’s funny about this?
I would have made the same mistake if they didn’t hit me with “VPN voting not allowed”. Not a very good first impression from this website…
Intelligence also doesn’t necessarily translate to actual success. I’ve been through numerous assessments as a child that confirmed I am comfortably in the “green zone” (if measured by IQ, that is), but I also have pretty severe ADHD so I can only really make use of my brain for short periods of time.
I can get a week’s worth of work done in a day, but only once a week, and I spend the rest of the week wondering where I’d be if only I could work like that every day. I was also a decent student in school/uni but never near the top of the class, because I couldn’t bring myself to study for anything more than a few days before the exam.
Ah, I see. I agree that wording doesn’t sound like you can do name change only. I remember reading that you can choose your own name but I suppose that must’ve been only in combination with a gender entry change then.
Hopefully there will be official confirmation at some point on what is possible. I have no need to change either name or gender for myself, but I’m happy that those who do will have a much easier time than before.
I’m pretty sure no longer sure you can change your name and/or gender independently with this new law. Only limit is 1 change per year.
Ah man, I’ve been playing various Trackmania titles since 2013 but I still struggle with some of the campaign author medals and my placements are only around top 5-10% of players. Better than average sure, but not “exponentially” [sic] despite years of experience :(
Is that more of a ‘big expensive city’ thing or is $65k generally considered low in the US? I’m not from there so I am trying to put that into perspective
