I didn’t say people shouldn’t install Linux. But even if you do, browser share matters and if Microsoft is abusing their customers and tricking them into using edge in mass, then it will affect you as a Linux user too.

Microsoft can modify chromium. They can add proprietary things to it. Yes you could use edge if you have to critical pages that only works right on edge.
Windows is telling people their computer is broken if they don’t use Edge.
Switching to Linux won’t save you if Microsoft Edge takes such a huge market share that a lot of the internet starts to basically require it.
This article is complete trash who’s upvoting this garbage?
But the alternatives that people are proposing leaves people with no representation at all. You can’t have representation when you aren’t even allowed to discuss ideas that the government already disagrees with.
China is totalitarian and becoming more autocratic by the year.
When dictatorships go badly, they go extremely badly. Far more badly than even a broken representative democracy. The odd of having a sold string of reasonably good dictators are vanishingly small. A good dictator is the best form of government. Good luck maintaining that though.
What definition of proletarian democracy? It’s not well defined and means vastly different things to different people.
That’s not a political system at all. It’s a process that could be implemented in many styles of government. It is not incompatible with representative democracy either. It is a bad idea though. It means that a government has a hard time changing course, even when it needs to. Because it silences people from questioning decisions.

One problem in the US is that the purpose of the House of Representatives has been completely subverted. It was supposed to scale up with the population so the representatives really would be part of the community they represent. But we stopped increasing the number of representatives and that lets the ruling elite control them better. The representatives no longer come from their community and the wealthy have less candidates they have to prop up. And the lower count means that gerrymandering is far more effective.
What’s better?
It’s still the best way even if it’s bad. Ranked choice voting would make it better.
This isn’t even a slippery slope towards that though. This is all about consumer choice, privacy, and stopping a few companies from skimming 30% of the top of all digital sales.
We’re in a very tough spot. There are more humans alive today than have ever died. We want to keep everyone alive for obvious reasons and that means we’re going through resources fast. All the solutions are not pleasant. We need to choose a path:
1.live a more austere life and cut down on luxuries drastically for everyone. 2. Use the government to limit childbirth
Both are extremely unpleasant, but it’s going to need to happen or else nature will force both options in us and also add massive amounts of death.
But the numbers don’t lie. It is an almost uniquely Muslim phenomenon. It doesn’t matter where the Muslims come from.
I would like to see these numbers that show that it doesn’t matter where the Muslims come from.
I can understand thinking Riven (Myst 2) was made to force people to buy a guide or call a hotline. It had some extremely challenging puzzles. It was bearable without a guide, but you had to really pay attention to everything. but Myst 1 didn’t have anything insane.
Ah yeah. You’re right.
