Sure there are edge cases and whatnot, but just go ahead and move the drive over. If it doesn’t work I’ll buy you a beer.

It’s not just about treating current employees well. It’s also about offering enough at the hiring stage to attract more good workers. Higher starting pay and a better reputation as a place to work means more people applying, means that Methface Matt can’t compete with TypeA Teresa to get hired in the first place.
Stephen’s dad, is that you?
My MO is much cheaper. I just throw produce waste into a corner of my back yard and see what starts growing. Right now I’ve got about 10 pumpkin plants taking off like crazy. A jalapeño plant too!
More and more I feel it’s best to think of software as existing in a quantum state of all possible feature/bug combinations. Between updates that can occur on any facet of the software’s intricacies, algorithm quirks, human interventions, and clandestine beta testing on unsuspecting groups of users, who the fuck knows.
Hey that’s cool. I’m late to the party but just in time to wish you a happy lunch. What’re you having?
I had amazing luck getting Linux running nicely, way-back-when, with an Acer Aspire One. I’ve stayed with that product line for all my laptops and so far it’s paid off. But then there’s also options like System76 for nice machines with Linux pre-installed.
I’d love to share it. I’m not sure what the best way is. I’m still new to the Fediverse but I feel there must be a way to do it Fediversally.
Last night I grabbed a bunch of audio files for country songs that contain the phrase “ice cold beer,” then I edited them together so that all the "ice cold beer"s lined up amidst the cacophony of about 5 songs being played at the same time. I thought that would be funny but it just didn’t sound as good as I thought it would. Maybe if each song faded in one by one… I dunno.
Unlike capitalism, which is a bunch of random people climbing on eachothers back and when one gets to the top he is not expected to pull the others up.
Unless you think “from scratch” sounds nice.
