Mid 30s isn’t “old as fuck”.
That being said, not everyone is destined to be in a relationship. Some people are just socially awkward or annoying to be around and don’t have either the guidance or desire to change.
Some people don’t even realize that they are annoying or off-putting to others, and so they can’t understand why no one will be their friend or get into a relationship with them. Sometimes they tend to blame other people as the problem instead of themselves.
I hardly ever order food to my home. One time in the past 5 years I’ve ordered pizza and had someone deliver it. It’s not worth the cost.
I rarely go out for fast food.
I would prefer a future where criminals were eliminated. I don’t care what race they are.
Being a landlord is a self-employed job. People don’t advertise for self-employed jobs. They do those jobs themselves!
Sounds like you’re the one with the ignorance on the topic.
Being a landlord IS a job. Being a landlord involves work, and work is a job. This is very simple.
“Landlording” is a word. It’s the act of performing the work of a landlord.
Anyone can pay someone else to do work. But the act of hiring others and making sure they’re doing their job is still work.
The majority of landlords are known as “mom and pop” which means they only have a few rentals. Many small landlords don’t hire a large team because there’s not enough money coming in from the rental to do so.
Being a landlord is in fact, work.
Simply owning a property is called being a real estate investor. You can invest in property without even setting foot in it.
But maintaining it, interacting with tenants, etc is all work and that’s what a landlord does. As such, people should get paid for their work.
The only people who want something for doing no work is landlords and shareholders.
You are incorrect about that. Landlords absolutely do work.
Not everyone who is a landlord is born into wealth. Someone born into poverty can also be a landlord.
By your logic, grocery stores are the same. They don’t grow the food. They don’t invent new food. There’s nothing wrong with grocery stores either.
The main reason landlords are hated is jealousy. People hate those who have something they don’t. Especially when landlords worked for what they have and the ones who are jealous didn’t – they want to be handed things for free without contributing. Look at the old parable of the ant and the grasshopper.
I have a circular saw, a miter saw, a small table saw, an oscillating saw, a square, and a drill. (Among other tools.) I’ve been able to learn how to install trim and flooring, replace deck boards, and build shelving.
At some point I’d love to learn how to make a bench.
If there was a course in carpentry, I would take that.
You severely underestimate the number of people who lack ambition, life skills, discipline, and financial responsibility. It may seem easy to you but to people without these things, it’s like climbing a mountain.
It only makes sense to those who are illogical.
People love to hate what they don’t understand. People have been hating other people and things they don’t understand for thousands of years.
The mention of “chads” in various comments makes me think of those articles about incels. Is that where you were going?
There’s not enough engagement/subscribers on the Lemmy equivalent of the primary Reddit sub I visit.
Various T-shirts:
Because society agrees it is.
Because we’re using very basic factual definitions.
Job = performing work
explain the logical holes in your ideas
There are no logical holes in my ideas. I’m explaining basic facts.
There are (or were) definitely some subs that were harder to moderate than others I’d imagine.
It happens to me as well. If I go slower it recognizes words more accurately.
