My wife owns a small business and I work for her. I get all kinds of perks including being able to sleep with the boss.
This is what bugs me more than anything. They “know” my bag didn’t make the flight but instead of sending me a message (to the email / phone number I already gave them) they make me wait two hours on the ground after a one hour flight.
Said by someone who has never lived under occupation.
Then they should move elsewhere. When you immigrate to a country it’s on you to conform. I as a gay man would never consider moving to a Muslim country where my lifestyle is rejected. If otters feel their values don’t align with secularism then don’t come here.
Yes of it’s visible. Religious symbols are allowed to be worn if they are not visible.
We can debate questions of historical sovereignty all night … it will never end. But do you think the majority of Ukrainians would prefer to be part of Russia? If so you are either lying or you live on a different planet. Like the Poles, the Romanians, the Lithuanians, the Czechs, in fact anyone who has lived under the Soviet / Russian boot, Ukrainians for the most part detest and despise Russia (with good reason). The most ardent anti-Russians are the ones who used to be ruled by them.
“Orwellian” is a term that gets thrown around a lot these days so one hesitates to use it, but when a country invades another sovereign state and then turns round and claims they didn’t start the war it really does sound like something the ministry of truth would say. To be clear. America started the war in Iraq (incidentally I marched in the street in protest). Russia started the war in Ukraine.
Ukraine was invaded by a tyrant. The people have suffered for over a year, children have been slaughtered or lost limbs, civilians entombed in rubble, and the armed forces have lost tens, perhaps hundreds of thousands defending their homeland.
Now I’m not a violent man but I have to admit, in the face of all these poor people have suffered, reading your glib comment does make me feel like punching something.
I think a bomb is more likely for a couple of reasons. Firstly the breakup occurred around the tail section … that doesn’t square with a guided missile which normally targets the nose or engines. Second a bomb is much easier to conceal than a missile. I think the smoke in the video was from the explosion itself.

I was taught that my job is “to make sure all my bosses surprises are pleasant ones”. 15 years of working as an engineer and that never changed. Now I have my own business and that’s the thing I look for employees… someone I can leave on their own to do a job. It they have problems they can always ask me. If they screw up I expect them to tell me immediately and to have a plan of action to fix it and to prevent it happening again. And I never ever get cross if someone does come to me and say they screwed up. Far better that we tell the client about a problem than wait until the client finds the problem themselves.
Reading all these comments makes me realize how lucky I’ve been in my career. I’ve always had great bosses who defended me and backed me up.
In a similar vein “the greatest weapon in the hand of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed” … Steve Biko
I’ve heard people who say the same thing as you but they drive a $60,000 pick up which they replace every 3 years. My wife and I drive a 12 year old Honda Fit that suits us fine. We’d rather spend that money on flying in business class whenever we fly long haul. Your money, your choice. For us enjoying the actual travel part of the vacation is important - more important than driving a fancy car, so that’s where we put our money.
Also if you plan ahead and look for deals you can find business tickets that are only 2-3 times the price of economy. Still a big chunk of money but not outrageous.
Private wealth management. They take a large cut but it’s worth it for most mega-rich folks. They will manage the money for you and invest it according to your goals. They spread the funds out into various investment classes to lower overall risk and they work full time moving money around to maximize gains. They also have access to tax experts who can advise on how best to minimize taxes.
I’m not sure if you’re aware but “commie” is a derogatory term … if you didn’t know that it’s fine. Now you do.
If you did know that and you’re intending to be derogatory then go fuck yourself.
And who defines reputable? You I suppose?
I’m not sure if you noticed but when you’re scrolling down your feed list, just below the link itself is a little bit of text that shows the source. Just read it … takes a fraction of a second… and if it’s from somewhere you don’t like then don’t open it. Just move on.
Moderators … please pay no attention to posters like this, you’re doing a fine job and we thank you. Keep the news coming from various sources abd let us decide for ourselves if we want to read it. Like adults.
The study concluded that favela residents should expose themselves to fewer shootings in order to improve their mental health. It also recommended a further study to determine whether grinding poverty, lack of sanitation and contaminated air and water might impact residents negatively.
Bukele, the president of El Salvador, the guy who wants to lock up 5% of young men in his country and turn it into a fortified police state, that guy has an approval rating of 80% … by far the highest in Latin America. If we liberals want to prevent the rise of autocrats we need to come up with policies to keep our citizens safe, instead of conducting inane studies that invite ridicule.
What did the Romans ever give us eh?
