You forgot to mention you use Arch, btw.
You forgot to mention you use Arch, btw.
I’ll say the same thing I say at the airport.
“I would like to opt-out please”
I buy devices like Apple TV to replace the built in shitty smart tv functionality on smart tvs. I do not want ads so I do not connect my tv to the internet, and instead connect my streaming box.
Ignorance is bliss in respect to this question.
Random streamer that is popular. That’s it. Ignore and move one.
I’ve used both for years. iPhone is simply the better device compared to any Android phone I’ve tried, including Pixel and other high end phones.
iOS is a better OS for me. I’m a software eng, and so I’m able to do all sorts of things to androids, and some things to iOS, but at the end of the day I want my phone to work and that’s it. I don’t tinker in my free time because I tinker all day at work.
As others have mentioned, the Apple ecosystem is pretty fantastic.
Finally, I’d rather buy hardware/software from a hardware/software company than an advertising company.
I work in the medical industry. Any software that controls any device or reports any data used in the OR is absolutely treated this way.
I’d say this strongly depends on the industry.
In an entertainment or ad sales product, I’d completely agree with you.
In a medical or financial product, the bug will take precedence.
You didn’t miss anything. It is the general Apple hate on Lemmy.
People mad that expensive phone is expensive.
And if you watch the matrix today for the first time, everything is cliche and done to death.
The reason for this is that every single action movie after the matrix has copied it. When it released, it blew people away. No one had seen anything like it. I remember going to see it after an event because of how much people wouldn’t stop talking about it. Even overhyped, I was blown away.
The Matrix defined action movies for a decade+
Electric Callboy!
Pump it and We got the moves are must listen/watch. The music videos are fantastic.
This is a fantastic unpopular opinion.
I definitely consider this for some genres, but for others it ruins the music for me.
There are great songs and albums in all genres.
There are terrible songs and albums in all genres.
Listening to an album as it was released, front to back, is the best way to consume music.
100% agreed. Please and thank you are standard. Pleasant tone and asking to work together rather than giving commands is also.
It takes so very little extra effort to be nice.
Yes, always.
So many musicians and other artists are not only complete assholes, but also complete morons. But, I don’t listen to their music for their antics or their intelligence, I listen for the music.
I still listen to Johnny Craig and the Lost Prophets even though I know how horrible they are in real life. Because to me, the music is about the feeling that it elicits in me, not about the creator. I don’t care who made a thing, I care about the thing.
Edit: that said, I’ve not purchased music by those two, and instead pirated it.
It would have to be a massive raise. At least double my current salary. Nothing else would have me even consider it.
Yep. This is the answer.
And by much higher, I mean on the order of 100% raise as in double my current salary. Even then it’s be a hard decision.
Add a video game session or 3 and yep!
Similar to you, but I also hate the advertising industry with a burning passion and want to deprive them of any and all data possible.
