Still no plans/pricing for Proton Pass Family (only the full proton suite).

Proton is missing many users with this simple lack of effort; not everyone wants drive, vpn, etc.

Some folks just want a password manager for the immediate and extended family; and often times we are willing to just pay a few bucks extra per month and not worry about helping these people after they get hacked, due to terrible passwords.

  • This is unfortunately why I moved the kids devices to iPhone/iPad.

I was not able to find any native methods of locking things down without involving third parties collecting a ton of data.

In iOS I can set their account as a child account, which then lets me

    • limit what applications they can launch
    • what websites they can visit
    • how much screen time they spend in an app or category of apps
    • disable in app purchases
    • disable pop up advertisements in app
    • require approval from parent account for any app download (including free)
    • remove ability to delete apps or change specific settings

all with the native iOS settings

  • I noticed that many of the apps (Mlem, Memmy, etc.) have issues with pulling in latest content, even when searching communities that have thousands of users in them, will come back as no content.

Then you add all the defederation and community blocking and it can seem dead when it really isn’t.

I’ve been tempted to run my own instance for myself only, just to get a raw feed of other instances/communities and decide for myself what to block.
