Yes, assuming we’re talking about DND, the player is asking if his total attack roll with modifiers is equal to or greater than the enemies armor class, which only the DM knows. If so, the attack hits. If not, it misses. An AC of 19 or more is pretty high for low level player characters.

Boot into BIOS, disable the controller for the SATA drives, install on nvme, revert BIOS config.
It’s a hell of a lot easier to disable than it is to enable, especially if you’re not disabled. It’s a minor inconvenience once for us, but enabling it could be exceedingly difficult to overcome for someone else.
