Capitalism hates free markets. Capitalism is all about maximizing profit at all costs. Free markets promote competition, which negatively impacts profit. It’s why so many capitalists seek to monopolize markets.

Any tool that is misused can be harmful, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t use it. It just means you should regulate how it’s used.

You’re right, because bribing people to support you instead of someone else also paying them is a surefire way to lose a lot of money to little effect.

They’re not exactly the most conscionable group, unlikely to act in a positive way just because someone flashes a few bills in front of their face. Likely they’d take his money, then do what they’ve always been doing anyways, cause that way they make twice as much to do it.

You could always use the metric system, that was always allowed. Most food (I’ve seen) has both imperial and metric measurements. Most digital measuring devices and lots of analog ones will have options for both. Speedometers generally have both.

Really, the only one stopping you from using the metric system in your daily life is you. Unless of course you’re saying you want other people to use it. Which is a distinctly different proposition.
