Inter is great, I’ve been using it (TTF hinted) as my UI font for years and it renders very sharply. I’m on Debian and KDE Plasma
It’s not made by Google though, it’s this guy, Rasmus Andersson
i like analog media, photography, and steel bicycles. free palestine 🇵🇸

I’ve always used XFS on spinning drives and F2FS on SSDs. No issues, they’re very solid
but rather than just cranking up the exposure or brightness, it seems to do the equivalent of bringing the detail from shadows in Photoshop.
Maybe the levels slider? If you place the black point pointer further to the left shoulder of the curve, the shadows won’t be as dark.
I use XSane for scanning photos and I get good results. It has plenty of options and auto-names files like you said. I’m not sure what Descreening and Backlight Correction are for, though.
I could understand requiring an account with Jitsi itself, but needing that account to be Facebook, Google, or MS seems to be at odds with the type of person who would use an encrypted video chat in the first place.
what do you think imperialism is? the island of taiwan has historically been part of china, the KMT just held onto it after losing the civil war. it’s like if the CSA somehow kept florida
Facebook is both spyware and evil but it seems strange to call it “corrupt”. It wasn’t corrupted, this is what the zuck wanted.
Communist Party of China, CPC. The country that they are in is China (PRC). A billion people do not live in the “CCP”, that’s like saying Japanese people live in the LDP, and your imprecise use of these terms makes you look uninformed. Unless, of course, you just constantly say “CCP” because you don’t want to recognize that they are the legitimate and popular government of China, you know, a country.
I speak of russia generally so I can include USSR and the current state of affairs. I realize they are different but they are both authoritarian. They be capitalist but they call themselves communists.
This is a meaningless statement. Any government that wields power to accomplish things is “authoritarian”. It’s silly to equate the USSR with the Russian Federation when they are two very different administrations with distinct ideology and policies. Russia for the past 30 years is a capitalist country with an administration originally installed by the US. Putin is a right-wing figure and an anti-communist. I don’t like Putin and the other rightists in charge of Russia, but I hope NATO doesn’t win out in the East because I don’t want the US Empire ruling over the whole world.
We aren’t uncritical of the USSR, China, and the DPRK, we just think they broadly did (and do) much more good than bad.
Also, “CCP” isn’t a country or even a party (CPC), it’s China or the PRC. I assume when you say “Russia” you mean the Soviet Union that hasn’t existed in thirty years as Russia is a capitalist country now.
Post your credit card number and DLN while you’re at it.
So a mod didn’t like a comment you made which was interpreted as encouraging anti-homeless hate. Instead of just moving on you decided to make this about “tankies” despite no one saying anything about Marxist ideology, China, or anything related. I think you’re just looking to pick a fight with us because we’re dirty pinko commies or something.
it looks like the only comments of yours that were removed were for making inflammatory comments about homeless people on public transport in a place you don’t live.
Neat! I have a J2ME-capable phone but I haven’t really tried playing games on it much. What are some of the best ones you’ve found?
I used to use AntennaPod a few years ago, not sure what it’s like now but it looks to still be updated. Nice app as it has built-in search, etc. rather than just taking RSS feeds.
I haven’t been on Android in a few years but it looks like Librera Reader is still being maintained. Works great but somewhat large file size due to being a full-featured e-book/document reader rather than just PDF.
yes, that’s a tty. why do you need a different resolution? if what you want to do is change the font size, check out this link
i had plenty of physical space in my computer case and didn’t want to spend a huge amount on drives, so i have my OS and some games on a SSD and have added a bunch of old enterprise HDDs (6TB, 3TB, and 2TB) to store media and games on. having only an SSD seems overly expensive if you want to store large amounts
I really doubt that the problem is with your actual graphic drivers, but with the wine version of directx. first, make sure you have Vulkan and DXVK installed and working on your computer as it’s required for directx 11. you could also try older wine versions, or you can see if you can force hearthstone to run under directx9 if it’s still supported:
In the Game Settings (in the Battle.net app) you need to enable the command line argument and then type this into it:
-force-d3d9
a few years ago when i didn’t have a Vulkan-capable GPU i would have to make a lot of windows games run in D3D9

i feel bad for any writer there who’s just trying to do tech journalism
It’s not CentOS 3, it’s CentOS with Linux kernel 3.10 (a 2014 kernel). This was supported in RHEL/CentOS through 2017.
Still very dated and a bad idea, of course. And even weirder that it’s on a new machine. I’ve seen tons of stores using Win7 past it’s EOL, but on older hardware.
