I can handle shitty graphics, it’s the framerates that really mess with me.
I sometimes forget that some games on Switch cap at 30fps. Jumping from a 165hz display running 165fps to a 60hz display running 30fps is… a bit jarring.

As a teenager, my parents would only let me have a PC if it was situated outside of my room, so naturally, I put my setup in my basement. I was excited to play games in the coolest (temp-wise) room in the house, up until the day a camel cricket decided to jump up my pants and continue to work its way up until I smashed it against myself.
Yuck.
I like to imagine that the childbots are made in the image of the parentbots, and the childbots eventually are tasked with picking out preferred larger parts as a growing rite.
For the 2nd one, better safe than sorry. You would feel like more of a dumbass if you heard a story in the news about a gas leak fire, or some other form of damage/injury/death.
I just wanted to point out that Oral B’s basic electric toothbrushes still range from $45-$80, so it’s not quite as cheap as you say it is. Your point still stands in its entirety. The only thing that makes this product different from the $45 model is the Alexa functionality, and taking that away makes it effectively not the same product.
Computer anxiety can be pretty awful. I’m in a long distance relationship as well, and when my partner’s laptop broke (charger port issue) we were stuck communicating only through their phone. For a couple that likes to remotely play games together and watch media together, this is a huge roadblock.
We ended up utilizing a (used) chromebook as a temporary solution until we were able to regain access to the laptop after repairs.
I’m not really understanding why this portrait looks this way… Is the black blob on the bottom left his bent leg? If it is his bent leg, what’s the tan colored bit at the bottom? Or is the black blob some random giant pouch on his hip, alongside the other more pouch-like object on his hip? Is the bow being held close to his body (arm bent?) or does he have a short left arm?
So many questions…
This is basically the first joke I made when I talked about the news to friends.
It’s a “a lot of things” thing. Generally, the taboo around such behavior is just a symptom of a lack of empathy.
Just about any person could go into a panic while in a state of stress and do something irrational, and just about everyone does at least a few times. In a shared moment of stress, you might see more empathy because “any of us could have panicked/froze/etc.,” but if it’s just you, “something’s wrong with that person.”
For anyone still following this thread in confusion, the Limited Edition (LE) card is Intel’s equivalent of a Founder’s Edition card. Intel stopped producing LE cards, but their AIB partners are still producing their own SKUs.
Audio equipment. Started as someone who collected a bunch of budget king IEMs and have been slowly creeping my way up in cost ;-;
I’m really enjoying how customizable the themes are in this app!
Agreed. I miss Tribes :(
Hi-Rez bought Tribes from Sierra back in 2010 so they likely own the IP, unfortunately.
By the time I started playing Forza Horizon 5, I had already completed a vast majority of the content in FH4. Once I started FH5 I found myself doing a lot less missions/races and instead just hopping in a pretty sounding or nicely handling or gorgeous looking car and seeing if I can drift some corner or launch myself off a ramp and land on a piece of road.
It just feels good.
Elden Ring m&k was a million times better of an experience than original Dark Souls on m&k. What a nightmare.
I think I just expect metroidvanias to feel snappy and robust, and Convergence on m&k did not live up to that standard.
As someone who almost always plays mouse and keyboard on PC, I had a few struggles with Convergence feeling like it was made console-first.
I understand why, but it just makes me want to go play Hollow Knight or something.
I don’t really understand the purpose of showing FSR2 vs FXAA/MSAA with still frames… FSR2 struggles most with motion and thin/dense high-contrast areas, none of which are showcased in the screenshots, so of course FSR2 is going to look better.
You know, BG3 is a great experience overall, but I don’t think it’s a great gaming experience. I’ve experienced at least a handful of softlocks that forced me to rewind a decent amount of playtime… and I don’t really think I’m playing in a way that should break the game.
Interesting that the screen has such an aggressive curve, but the scanlines and text box are relatively straight.
