We have “farmer’s markets” which can be a place where you buy direct from farmers for far below store prices, but more often than not it’s become a way for farmers or businesses that call themselves farmers to sell “artisanal” goods for far above store prices. These aren’t regulated by any government authority and while they had been a way to get quality produce for less by cutting out middlemen, they’ve been commercialized and have become another expensive way to get food. Although you can find some very high quality meats and other rarities at some that are hard to find elsewhere.

I dunno I think that’s a tad conspiratorial… lemmy is a pretty small audience upon which to launch state sponsored disinformation campaigns. It’s a far simpler explanation that it’s just some dork annoyed at bot comments, which makes sense tbh, it’s just easy to solve by blocking the bot.

I get it’s annoying to see a comment on almost every news article shared that contributes nothing to a conversation, but you can also just block the bot and be done with it.

I dunno if I hate Google, but I’ve grown tired of their bullshit. I use their products, but mostly because they’ve become the default solution being so feature rich and widely used. They’ve leveraged that to bog them down with ads and Spyware and THAT I despise.

I’m looking at the line up of foldables and wondering

1. do I even really need one? I kinda want one, they look cool, but is it really that much better than a normal phone?

2. should I even consider the Galaxy when the Honor V3 looks like it’s comparable specs with better battery and a thousand dollars cheaper?

Tho the latter requires figuring it how to get and use one in the US.

I think people who have a media based existence have to be more mindful of this kind of thing, because, like it or not, appropriate or not, it can have very serious effects on their livelihoods.

We all suffer a bit of this at work. There are things we avoid saying to our coworkers, bosses, customers and clients, etc. What is and isn’t okay to say changes based on the nature of our employment.
