  • “In a last attempt to stay relevant, Spez added a new feature to Reddit, which automatically converts every comment into an NFT, that you can sell for real money transactions. The author’s name will change to the NFT owners.”

“Meta changing it’s name again, to ZombiOS, after releasing it’s desktop OS, based on iOS with Facebook integration.”

“Lemmy user number raised the 10th time year to year.”

“After Elon Musk shut off X in 2024, he decided to go for a comeback. To honor the name X, he let his son X$alaπ¢ work as CEO of the new Y website, targeting neuralink social Media, where you can share memories directly into the brain.”

  • Faster than light - manage crew in a 2D strategy environment and jump around in space. Pretty unique gameplay which only recently got some clones.

Teardown - Work as criminal stealing stuff, but the clue is you can destroy everything and you need to create smart parkour to steal stuff right in time before the cops arrive. Also you can sandbox play it if you get bored.

Terra Nil - Bring back nature to a destroyed earth, with relaxing and calm mechanics. Highly recommend.

Others: FEZ, solve puzzles. Deep Rock Galactic, because dwarfs being this much dwarf is just dwarftastic. Rock and Stone!

  • Yeah I used that. It was okay. I prefer the way how I can drag and drop the tabs in Edge. Sidebery didn’t seam to habe that option. Also when you were on bookmarks you couldn’t open a folder with one click (Middle mouse button). It also didn’t automatically switch back to tabs from bookmarks when opening more than an individual bookmark. Saving bookmarks also didn’t remember the folder. It’s tiny stuff that made me go back to Edge.

  • Moved from Edge to Firefox and back to Edge a few days later. FF “works” but I prefer the less clicks requiring Edge UI. The faster bookmarking, the better vertical tabs (though you can kind of get it to work with verticalFox css). Edge loads faster and handling drag and drop of tabs and better website translation. FF also had performance issues on some websites. Another is, Edge bookmark icon remembers my click, while FF UI always resets.

I use a combination of desktop and android and FF android really isn’t good with it’s UI, it would require many more clicks to save 10 bookmarks inside my desktop folders and much longer to sync them. While on Edge it was two touch and instant sync.

I’d say FF is fine for 99% if the people but I was looking for something else. I did this just a few days ago.

  • I didn’t believe him, I believed the positive messages he send and implanted. I don’t care about him nowadays, but I also don’t regret internalizing certain stuff he preached. It wasn’t totally bullshit of what he said, until a point where he completely drifted off.

Thankfully I stopped watching any of his stuff quite a while before that happened, so I dodged this whole mess and only saw the burning ship wrack from the distance. I understand the hard feelings of others who are more involved in this topic though.

To agree, that something someone said, was correct, isn’t a bad thing. Even if the stuff that follows is off the mark.

To regret that, would also mean regretting failure, but without failure there’s no progress.

  • I’ve only noticed a trend of people not being able to answer more than one question at a time, even when chatting and they have all week to answer. The first question is somehow always skipped.

This is making me mad, as I feel forced to pause my thoughts. Pause the ideas in my head. Wait for the reply, reply myself, wait for the conversation to turn a bit and finally be able to ask the second question. Now if I have three questions, I might as well give up and talk to a chatbot.

People have the attention span of a peanut by now.

  • I see where you’re coming from but I don’t agree, well at least not anymore. I used to. Thing is, we reached a point for me personally where an old game doesn’t necessarily look bad anymore, as my brain will fill on the gaps, even as an adult. I can hardly do that with any of the really old games, as they lack polygons and details, but anything more modern is good enough. Art style is more important than graphics quality. And art style doesn’t exclude realism. The same way a real life thing can look good or bad, even though both have real world graphics if you so want.

I also don’t think it’s as easy as to make every game comic or pixel art, for some genre it simply doesn’t work as part of the gameplay is immersion in the world. Thankfully though we reached a point where even indie developer can use something like Unreal Engine or Unit to create high quality games. In future this will advance further thanks to AI animation, voiceover, textures and even models.
