I’m in the USA and I get 3 weeks paid vacation, 10 paid holidays, and 2 “personal days” which are also PTO, and more sick time than I am ever able to use up. I think I have over 200 hours of sick leave PTO accrued.

This is not a basic entry-level job though, it’s after climbing the career ladder for years. It would be much nicer for our country’s folks if everyone was allowed as much PTO by all jobs.

Just another reason not to watch them. I don’t want to watch any videos of talking heads. There’s no reason that I need to watch a video of someone’s face talking about anything.

Sounds like you just didn’t understand. Each hour of the 12 on the clock takes up 30° of the circle, and we measure time in cycles of hours, minutes, seconds that all match up well with the 360° of a circle.

It helps give people a geometrical understanding of the cyclic nature of time.

I’ve never used a mobile banking app. Been using smartphones since they became generally available. I don’t need any payment apps and I generally don’t do anything important on my cellphone except for communications.

When you’re trying to pee, try working up some spit in your mouth like you’re going to spit a bunch of saliva out. Not a loogie from the throat / sinus area but plain spit from under your tongue. For me it seems like this is connected to the piss-releasing nerves and helps to let it flow.

Yeah, I set the toaster on fire once also. I had read online that you can make cheese toast in there if you turn the toaster sideways so that the cheese is on top vs gravity. It might have worked if the toaster hadn’t caught fire. I had to throw it out the front door into the yard

It’s really not if you have the right setup at home, instead of using somebody else’s servers. Like nobody has a NAS or their own servers?

It’s much nicer not worrying about who can get to my files in the cloud, when they’re not in the cloud.

Cellular calling and text can still work without Internet, using separate channels wholly owned by the telcos.

Plenty of people can still answer the phone and write down orders, and payment systems have offline modes. The Internet is not an absolute necessity even now for food delivery to happen.

Audiobooks are also passive listening which is not cognitively absorbed as thoroughly as active reading. IMO you have not “read” a book if you just listened to someone read it to you. Reading with your own eyes engages more thinking processes, forcing the reader to think more about what they’ve read.

I’d opt out of or cancel any service that requires that.
