  • FYI, ‘have you tried yoga?’ In chronic illness speak means ‘can I offer you unsolicited advice with the undertones of presuming that you have not tried to the best of your abilities to cure yourself of an incurable disease that has not even come close to be fully treatable?’

Not saying that’s what OP said, just saying thats how it comes off to most non-chronic illness sufferers.

You all ever tried saying ‘excuse me’?

Adding this to the long list of things women aren’t allowed to enjoy while hurting absolutely no one (uggs, Starbucks, rose, candles, just anything branded feminine)

Edit: for the tone deaf people in the back who say this isn’t about women, look again. The whole package of ‘OMG’, exclamation marks, ‘annoying kids’, two moms, some annoying trait, is all dog-whistle for people who like to trivialize things women do. This isn’t a unique phenomenon in memes. See how men elevate, and women ruin the foods they love.

Before you comment, think about the relevance of your own experiences. Lemmy’s userbase is 77% men and sometimes it shows.

  • That’s not an unpopular opinion, that’s just a sheltered opinion. A few things you need to get out of your head:

    1. That so called ‘safe countries’ are safe for everyone. This doesn’t say anything about those countries, it only says how little you know about them.
    2. People seek asylum trivially and are choosy beggars for going to X country (doesn’t matter where, this kind of sentiment is always the same)
    3. Europe going to war was ‘the good old days’.
    4. That Europe isn’t at war right now
    5. The act of being born in a ‘safe country’ makes you more deserving of it than other human beings
