  • Surely this is intersectional though right? Not all men are the same or have the same experience of political issues. I can see how straight white cis men might feel like these spaces aren’t for them. But queer men might feel differently about this. Black men also.

Also if you feel like existing spaces aren’t for you, then free to create your own spaces. There’s nothing holding you back.

  • I downvote comments that I feel are not constructive to the conversation. This includes things like unnecessary aggression / attacking, spreading misinformation, using offensive slurs or language, and trolling. I don’t downvote based on differences of opinion - in fact I upvote people who disagree with me if they’ve engaged in a respectful and genuine way. I also upvote comments that I think are well written and insightful. Sometimes I upvote comments that have been downvoted and I can’t see a valid reason as to why.

  • I have both and experience sensory issues differently. The autistic sensory issues are definitely more significant and impactful. Like my brain just cannot process things once it gets overwhelmed, sometimes it’s painful and feels like my head is going to burst. ADHD sensory issues are more attention based, so I don’t get overwhelmed in the same way, just frustrated and less able to control my executive function. I can also get hyperfixated on a specific thing, whereas with autism it just becomes all one big overwhelming stream of data that I can’t process.

  • I actually think community based sustainability is going to be a huge in demand area as climate change worsens. Depending on how much you want to sell your soul to the capitalist machine, there will be plenty of work opportunities in helping companies implement sustainability initiatives.

Also, social work and community development are widely applicable across the human services industry. You could get a job in government or not for profit organisations. In order to qualify as a social worker you’d probably have to do a masters, but there’s plenty of community based roles that you can get into with a bachelors.
