Take care of your teeth. If you get problems, it hurts like a bitch, it can ruin you day, every day for years. It’s also expensive as hell. Take care of them, the best that you possibly can.

What is the point if you cannot trade it to other people? How are you supposed to make money by trading then?

I work in a warehouse of a company that sells a pretty huge variation of products. I drive fork lifts on a regular basis, but my work is about 50% computer work too. But not in the office, my computer is in the warehouse.

I used to be a computer programmer, but being in the office all day drives me nuts. I need to be a little bit more active and I also like to change my view every now and then.

We have basically no downtime, there is always something to do, we are understaffed, the new hires don’t have a clue so all the work comes to the experiences workers. We are also trying to change some processes but we barely have the time.

So for me, the question was just really weird, I cannot imagine having nothing to do. I don’t even know what I would do if I have nothing to do. Probably take the day off or something…

Well that is when I am at work. My work times are clearly defined and when the time is over, I go home. So I am limited to about 8 hours in a day, with a very rare exception of 15 minutes longer.

After work and in the weekends I still have time to chill, but at work I have no downtime except for breaks. Luckily my boss also knows how busy we are and doesn’t complain if I cannot get everything finished, he just tells me what is a priority and what not.

That is really helpful for the stress levels, but it is still a pretty stressful job.

You guys have time for other things? I do my job and can fill my day with that. I sometimes have to stand my ground to make other people understand that no, I cannot do this additional tasks everyday, I don’t have the time for that.

95% of the time it is busy. The other 5% I use to catch up with the stuff I have no time for when it is busy.

The point for me is that the government automatically seems to think that cash payments are for something illegal. And all of a sudden, the burden is on me to proof that it is not.

While technically speaking, paying with cash is a very legal way to pay and should not require any explanation at all. Nor should it be more difficult.

Of course, there is a limit, and I get that paying a 2 million dollar house in cash is reason to at least ask where that money came from. But 3000 dollars or 100000 are amounts of money that in my opinion do not deserve the same amount of checking.

A lot of random but legal stuff can be done with 10000 dollars of cash. And yes, sometimes you use cash because you don’t want your identity known. Doesn’t mean you are doing something illegal. If the government thinks it is illegal, they should open an investigation and proof it.

Instead they put the burden on you. Doesn’t seem fair to me, and a limitation on my personal freedom to spend money however I like.

Not to mention, even things that are legal now, could be made illegal by governments to come, and dictators or oppressive regimes will have no problems with checking logs to see which assholes did something that goes against their values in the past. For that reason alone, governments should only be tracking the minimum amount of information they need.

This is cool. I struggled with exactly the problem as described. Installed the NVIDIA driver and it would not load, without telling me why. Somebody on Lemmy pointed out that you need to disable Secure boot.

It’s nice to know they are working on a solution, just a pity it’s so difficult. But they are trying very hard to make it workable.

Just commenting to say you cannot simply lower the water temperature. If you go too low there is a risk of legionella and nobody wants that. So please, before you lower your water temperature, do some research.

I believe 60 degrees is basically the lowest you can go safely. Different sources seem to indicate that.

Burning plywood or MDF is not recommended. The glue could release some toxic fumes.

Pretty weird that you have to pay anything at all. In my country my boss would not be happy, but he cannot make me pay for that.

Shoot for getting about 70% right. That is about where the rest of the world ends up too. And the world is still turning. No need to drive yourself nuts doing the impossible.

Abuse chances the way you think. It can be fixed. I’ve seen it happen. But you will have to take action, abusers tend to never change.

On the other hand, I am just a stranger on the Internet, so I have no real info about your situation. But I’ve seen hopeless situations like yours before, and I’ve seen them get resolved. So I hope you find a way. Because there always is.

Well, it’s only going to get worse. Go to a shelter. There are resources to help with debt, sometimes government programs.

If you stay you’re just digging the hole deeper. Every day you stay you are making it harder for yourself to leave. I know it is difficult.

You’re in a very very shitty situation. But out of all the choices you have available to you, staying is worst one you could possibly pick.

Do you have any friends or family that you can ask for help?

In the end it is your choice to stay or go. But make sure it is an actual choice and not just submitting because you don’t see a way out.

If you go to a shelter or the cops they might be able to at least explain to you what options you have. Perhaps there are numbers you could call for domestic abuse victims?

It is very important that you take action or things will only get worse. And I cannot imagine you want to struggle the rest of your life while he keeps draining you of all your money.

My gf had been in sort of a similar situation. You need to get out. At all costs. Even if you have to leave the dogs.

He will just do whatever he needs to do to keep you desperate and on his leash. So no matter what you do, he won’t met you save money, he won’t give you a chance to get away ever.

He is not going to change. You will have too. So get of your ass and leave. It’s the only chance you have for a real life again. If you don’t, you basically submit and accept that this will be your life forever.

I know that things may seem hopeless, but the situation you are in is affecting the way you think. You can get away, you can have a normal life but you have to decide that it is over and commit to getting away.

Was lost on the airfield trying to pick up some friends. Borrowed a van, so it wasn’t my car, I was lost and I was tired.

Then I fucked up and made a U-turn without looking and hit another car on the side. Nobody got hurt, but there was some damage.

Exchanged information and we each went on our way. Learned a valuable lesson that day.

Their job is to represent their clients interest and make sure they get a fair trial. There’s nothing wrong with that. In fact, it is one of the most important jobs for a justice system. I for one do not want to be charged for a crime I did not commit, and a good lawyer will turn that charge to shreds.

Of course they sometimes seem like the bad guys when defending rough criminals but those have the right to a correct and fair process too.
