  • Which phone was it? Sony has products in the low, mid and high price range and the cheaper phones naturally are weaker than an iPhone. If you compare the flagship models of the two brands the Xperia is at least on the same level of power as the iPhone.

And as an anecdote: I had an iPhone a few years ago and hated it most of the time (and I say this while using a three year old phone that cost me 200€ at the time)

  • If those people are marginalised why not make organisations that help them get into programming?

When you think about stereotypical programmers, you usually picture a white guy somewhere between 30 and 50 years of age (at least in Europe and I presume the USA). Coding used to be a profession that was predominantly made up of women but when it became clear that it would become an important job more and more men became interested in IT so that now there are about eight male programmers out of ten.

Black people have similar issues (and god forbid you are a black woman) in that they often are paid worse for the same jobs than white people and have worse chances to get good secondary education and academic jobs even if they have the same intelligence as white people. Helping people to get into computer sciences that statistically have way lower chances to do so without any fault of their own is a good thing in my opinion.

  • Why do you consider medical transition as harmful anyway? Most of the operations have no significant risks and you get well informed before even getting the chance of having them performed and they usually have a much higher satisfaction rate than other medicinically necessary surgeries like knee replacements etc. And if you want to use some “but think of the children” bullshit, assuming you live in either the USA or the EU, they get puberty blockers at most, which are also in use for several other things and proven to be rather safe, and then when they get older they finally get access to real HRT which also doesnt pose much risk to their health since several years as long as they take the right supplements alongside it as with a lot of medicinic therapies.

And suicide is actually legal in a lot of countries fyi

  • Firstly it is called gender dysphoria and not dysmorphia and secondly they tried to medicate us or use conversion therapy but that only made the people that this was done to more depressed and possibly suicidal. If it was possible to “cure” being transgender without doing any harm to the people being treated I would be for it but as it is now, pretty much the only way to alleviate our dysphoria is to transition socially and medicinically.

And for someone that says that they support our human rights you dont seem to give a shit about our bodily autonomy and I dont think that you hold cis people that underwent plastic surgery to the same standard as us.

  • Who the fuck would pay 3.000€ for an iPad? I had to buy one because Apple somehow managed to get an exclusivity contract with the schools of my city but that ‘only’ costed 400€ with the additional option to get financial support if your family can’t pay this much money. If possible I would have used a laptop or at least something other than an iPad but now I have to use it and hate it with my entire being although their glorified Bluetooth was quite nice before they gimped it.
