They still exist. In the North not so much, but in Bavaria you’ll find them on every corner.

Well that’s unfair, all you have to do is take a corkscrew to the floor and stick a pipe in it!
But we don’t really have it now, which is the main problem. In the time it takes to build these things (also for the money it takes), we could plaster everything full with renewables and come up with a decentralized storage solution. Plus, being dependent on Kazachstan for fissile material seems very… stupid?
Kazakhstan isn’t exactly any better than Russia. They’re Russia’s little puppet.
I have high hopes for EVs being used as a decentralized buffer via V2G. I’m thinking of something like you either buy an EV outright and you have no obligations to participate in V2G, but can sell electricity that way if you wish. Or, the government subsidizes your car to a certain extent but you have to give maybe 20% of your battery up as a buffer as long as it’s connected to the grid.
That’s why I use Revanced. I can hide the shorts and news shelves. The former is disgustingly addictive and a massive waste of time, while the latter is plain Nazi propaganda at times.
Sounds a bit like Gavin fucking Nelson.
