I wish I had the time to learn more about modifying gnome. I like what nobara did with it but I miss desktop widgets too much. pop’s version lets you categorize your apps into their own folders which is such a breath of fresh air. but true it does just work. default gnome for me is really only good for for x11 compatability issues though

Although, most static analyzers like those in visual studio or clion would give you away once you hover mouse over true. Also, real C programmers don’t use booleans so I think those dudes are safe.

What’s wrong with being DE fluid? Some days I identify with cinnamon, some days with plasma. System76 has a page on tips to switch between different ones in Pop OS once you get bored of GNOME (immediately). Might be some advice that carries over to other distros.

you are correct. I was meaning to imply harshly that people should not have auto download MMS on, though. Too many remain blissfully ignorant and uncaring about their own security to even go through options and change the defaults.

I feel like people who are naive enough to have auto download MMS on from random numbers deserve their devices hacked anyway. Does this affect people who dont have auto download MMS on? I usually just delete the text before it even downloads any attachments.

I’ll only use ungoogled pure chromium, that’s the only reason it can compete with good ole reliable FOSS Firefox for me. Brave’s track record at the moment is worse than Google’s to me.

I think the best route for preventing browser fingerprinting is to use multiple browsers for different things. Firefox is of course always the long standing favorite, but chromium has a place on my OS as well.

I’m was more talking about pure ungoogled chromium, as built from scratch or by popular Linux distributions. People that use commercial chromium browsers are already lost causes. Brave alone has more privacy red flags in its short existence than Google has in its over 2 decades.
