  • Are you running the cameras by themselves or do you also use the Amcrest NVR? I bought a PoE kit with the NVR but find it very clunky to use and have yet to figure out how to transfer video clips off of it (USB flashdrive only?). I’ve been interested in Frigate and the like but have yet to really dig into it. I’m also running a server with Plex and HA with lots of storage which would work for storage provided I buy a PoE switch.

  • It does matter how many times it’s being sold because unlike a car, which incurs material and labor costs to produce copies of, studios incur near zero cost when selling/reselling licensing rights to new companies, companies who have to pay these studios based on how many times their product is viewed.

If they don’t want to split their hefty profits with the people who produced their product for them, I guess they can try to produce the product without them and see how that goes.

Lol the fact that you think there are ‘sides’ when it comes to a calculated average rate of pay is pretty telling. Not to mention you got hostile the second someone questioned you and posted legitimate numbers from a site dedicated to job listings, while you stick to numbers that, as far as we can tell, were sourced from your own imagination.

If it doesn’t matter then why are you getting upset? If it doesn’t matter then studios will continue on producing content without the writers.

Why are you referencing music engineers and not songwriters in your analogy? Could it be that you know songwriters earn royalties for the work they produce? They create the product being sold (and resold ad nauseum) so they should be compensated for that. If their work didn’t matter then the strike would have zero impact.

  • As the other use said, this is the Z seam and is pretty normal. If you look at the preview in your slicer, you’ll be able to see where they’re oriented. One trick is to rotate the part in the slicer so that the seam gets put in a hidden area or on a corner. In Cura, the Z seam will be the white dots on the print in the preview window and the default setting puts them closest to the back corner of the bed.

Once you get more experience and comfortability, you can mess around with these settings in Cura (like coasting, retractions, etc) or setup something like Klipper with Input Shaping.

  • The alternative is for Putin to pack it up and go home and stop bleeding Ukraine and Russia (and those men who are being trafficked and conscripted from Cuba by Russia) dry of able bodied men.

Perhaps you think the entire European continent should just get it out of the way now and hand over their territory to this hostile dictatorship? That’d save a lot of bloodshed, right? We should be focused on doing whatever makes Putin happy because that means peace, unity, and no more war, right?
