I use bitwarden over Firefox because it can auto fill into apps. So, my bank apps or whatever else. And I’m not tied to Firefox if, for some reason, I want to stop using it.
It’s similar to why I don’t use Samsung pass on my phone. It’d work better filling in the fields, but that’s not going to help me on my PC, and I don’t want to maintain multiple managers.
Side tangent, but I wish people would recognize that more. You didn’t disprove something by providing ANOTHER fact.

Being able to swap a battery to keep a phone working well for a few more years makes sense.
Android “swipe” keyboards in general are almost all terrible right now. We had it, I would get the correct word most of the time and I could do it fast. Now, no matter which one I try using - Google, Samsung, Microsoft, that FOSS one - nearly every sentence i type has some word that it gets wrong.

Personal experience, I can also attest to noticing the issue about 2019-2020.
I got back into torrenting media and using plex because of all this nonsense. I’m not watching ads on a paid service and I’m not subscribing to 6 services at a time just because every company wants their own Network+ service. I’m also not going to pay more because you decided to add ads to an existing “tier”.
Then I learned through lemmy about real-debrid and stremio/torrentio and decided to try that. Now I’ve got the equivalent to these services for much less cost and the only difference is before I press play on an episode or movie, I just choose the cached torrent. No ads, don’t even need the space on a hard drive, good quality, and almost everything is immediately available.
I’m not sure what we’re referring to when we say pay back the debts, but as far as a societal collapse due to constant population growth - is that not just the basis of nature? If resources become scarce, population will decline since you can’t provide for everyone’s needs at that point. If resources are plenty, population can grow. I don’t see how a decline in population leads to societal collapse. Some countries are facing declining populations now, for other reasons, and they’re not collapsing. It’s a potential problem that would need to be faced, but collapse seems extreme to me.

Just organization. If you keep a bunch of games on your phone a game launcher like Samsungs keeps them all together. Like a folder that updates itself almost.
Streaming sucks at the moment so I pirate TV and movies. I’ve recently pirated a few books but that’s mainly because it hadn’t even occurred to me that I could until recently. I’m not a big reader.
I don’t really care about the ethics of it. I used to pirate music in my teens but now we have things like iTunes and Spotify and I don’t feel any reason to now. If TV and movies get back to that, I’ll stop pirating that too.
For me it’s just convenience and saving a bit of money not having 18 subscriptions.
It’s not called NFTs because it’s literally not using NFT technology in Steam. I’ve never seen anything suggesting using NFTs for video games that couldn’t be accomplished with a database and a store page like what Steam does.
It’s been fine for me. I’ve watched a handful of documentaries/series on curiosity stream and I watch like, 2 creators on nebula but I’ve got it for $19.99 a year so I don’t think about the cost
At this point, probably not. But, at one time, I did leave Firefox for Chrome when it was new.
