I mostly want to switch since it feels better. It’s a first big step into becoming independent from Microsoft, and I don’t like the way they’re going with LLM’s among other things (I.E. totally oblivious of any security issues or broken code until the internet/EU spanks’m for it)
The main reason though, windows 10 has ShapeCollector.exe to help windows learn your writing style. Windows 11 removed that, and just didn’t replace it with anything. Really irks me that.
In terms of thunderbird, school needs to grant permission, which I did ask for. Don’t think they’ve granted it though.
On that last part, theres a difference between elevating a file to admin, and being an admin in Windows.
In a lot of cases the ui is GREATLY simplified when not an admin, to the point where you might only have like 20% of all available options.
For the standard user? Great! Not when you’re messing around with permissions.
It’s why you ALWAYS log in as Admin when setting up a windows server. Iirc you can’t even install tiles without actually being an admin, even if you have all logins.
From my experience with windows, your current guess is correct btw :D
It’s like you said, the best option out of a bunch of flawed ones. We’ve not found the “perfect” governing system yet, but here in the Netherlands things are quite good. We’re slow to change, but when we do it often has quite good, long lasting impacts. In my personal opinion our system is better than most.
That still doesn’t excuse shitty gameplay, or like I said, an awfull basic gameplay loop. Gameplay loops don’t have to be difficult. Take minecraft as an example. The basic gameplay loop there is simple. Mine, craft, repeat. That, in its most basic form, is it. But if you look at redfall as an example, it’s using a tried and true method. Shoot, loot, upgrade, repeat. They don’t do anything else with it though.
Minecraft adds enchantments, building, cool alternate equipment.
Redfall (to my knowledge) adds nothing. And it doesn’t even have top-notch graphics. iirc Horizon: Zero Dawn looked prettier. So does Minecraft, but Minecraft is a complicated comparison that I won’t go into here.
Really? Graphics are the big issue? Then why was redfall’s basic gameplay loop worse than Skyrim’s (a game that hasn’t received a mayor update in 10-15 years)?
Like, I understand expectations can be batshit crazy, and often quite bad. You’ve got a point there. Graphics are only a minor part of what makes a good game, a good game though.
P.s. People nowadays tend to say that a game is incredibly buggy, or boring. Haven’t heard complaints about looks in a long, long time. Only heard complaints that the game is shite, or just simply doesn’t even work.
Yep. We all know it leads to hope, dreams and positivity.
That… That sounds like peak internet humour, and can (when handled in good faith) lead to the best kind of situations!
Thanks for the explanation!
I tried to look it up, and my German isn’t good enough. Would you be so kind to help?
A new low? Ever heard of Skyrim? I guess it is a new low for rockstar, but Bethesda’s been doing this successfully for far, far too long.
Then why did the religious schidm happen that created the Protestant faith?
I wanna learn how to do this on the fly now. Perfect way to give TTRPG players info without telling them :D Thanks for the inspiration!
He done fixed it though if what you’re saying is true. It’s working for me plenty fine
I am so happy I’ve started browsing this again. I’ve missed you boys. I’ve missed the random chaos that is my section of the internet!
I fucking love you, and you are the reason why I love the internet and trust humanity somewhat. This is absolute internet GOLD!
To clarify, as youve not understood the joke, nor read the comments. As far as I understand it, were you to start sailing at the first point, you never have to turn to arrive at the second. That’s why it’s “straight”. On the 2d plane you are completely correct however.
For proper and better informed explanations read the other comments :D
