Dude, chill. This was a really aggressive response to “I thought everyone had these”. You went past informative and straight into defensive and attacking. I’ve never seen this side of you before and it’s a bit off-putting. I’m sure you’re just having a bad moment, and that’s understandable. But please just take a second and recompose yourself. Could the other poster have used a bit more tact? Sure. But you kinda went off on a rant buddy.

Just my two cents. I love your content, for what it’s worth.

It’s part of the joke. Even if the author did not know how it is called, they were able to find the image of it on internet and make this meme. So, for sure if they wanted, they would be able to find the word itself in fraction of time it took to create the image.

Have they never been to a restaurant, retail shop in a downtown area, or countless other businesses? My local hospital even has awnings over some of the entrances.

They’ve clearly seen them before, at least on tv, but that is different from learning what they are called. It’s not too unusual to just not know the name of something, and then you have to describe it to people instead of just naming it.

“awning” is not a particularly common word, like say, “kitchen” or something. I kinda doubt most, say, 14 year olds know that word.
