Personal Thoughts

Kill 'Em All was recommended to me by a buddy in our weekly exchange. My mom listened to Metallica a lot when I was growing up so I’m quite familiar with the band but had never done a proper listen of the album. It was alright, not what I would normally put on for myself but not bad either. My favorite track was Seek And Destroy.

One of the first two albums I first was able to buy myself to start my collection after getting a WalkMan, man, those were the days.

And Justice For All gets more play from me, but I love this album.

This right here is Metallica’s best album, and it was mostly written by Dave Mustaine. I borrowed the tape from some kid at school right when the album was first released. I had it in my Walkman, the batteries were barely alive, and I can remember the moment when The Four Horsemen came on. I was crossing the street and almost stopped right there. I’d never heard anything like it before. This album is what changed me from playing bass with my fingers, like Steve Harris (from Iron Maiden), to playing with a pick. I remember telling my friends what a great band this was, and then Ride The Lightning came out. I was very disappointed.
