The hell kinda question is this? How do hospitals know anything? They do tests, scans, and lab work.

If someone is going on a ventilator they’re about to die without it. A ventilator is their last hope, jackass.

This article goes into detail for those interested and recalling the reports that “ventilators make COVID worse!!!?;!!?” spread by dipshits that then deny COVID was a problem at all.

            https://apnews.com/article/fact-check-study-ventilators-covid-deaths-775866708011

TL;DR patients who were put on a ventilator for pneumonia frequently show improvement. Because ventilators do indeed work as a last ditch treatment.

The problem is that if they develop a secondary infection, an inherent risk of the procedure and one of the reasons why it is a last resort, the person who was going to die without it probably won’t respond to further treatment.

Yeah, and they damage the lungs by forcing them to function and weakening our ability to breathe. That’s why we sometimes see lungs rupture from the pressure and see people fail to come off of the vent. It’s a last resort and I’d much rather be on a bipap machine if possible, but it isn’t always possible, and a relatively small chance to live is better than no chance

Find me an article that doesn’t use words like “covidiot”, puts the word pandemic in quotes, and reads like a rational level-headed nonbiased adult wrote it and I might take it more seriously.

I don’t read blogspam. Also, the people I knew that died never were put on ventilators.

First of all, I’m sorry for your loss.

For what it’s worth, I actually clicked through the bullshit article which linked to the ‘study’, which was another page with it’s own perspective on the actual study, which was linked further.

My understanding of the actual study, was that there was a high degree of mortality in patients who ended up on ventilators.

The reality though, is that those patients were on ventilators because their own bodies weren’t breathing properly, so they likely would have died from suffocation anyway, whereas at least a ventilator gave an opportunity to prolong life and to treat against COVID.

I think OP is either a troll, or unfortunately not quite capable of understanding the realities of what SARS‑CoV‑2 actually is, and what it meant to real people who either had their lives irreversibly changed for the worse, or died due to complications arising from it.

In summary, OP is a cunt.

I was about to edit my post, actually. [Here’s] a better link. Also I’m sorry for your loss, I don’t want to give the wrong impression.
